The internal logic has space for only a single challenge card, but we can probably rework stuff to make space for more, it'll just take some doing.

Out of curiosity, is this something that we overlooked in the rules?

No, not really.

They're meant to be a bit sandboxy though, hence the line, "Or feel free to mix and match the Challenge cards however you like."

I've never played this many solitaire games before. (I'd estimate I've played something like 40–50 games. Can you look this up form the logs?) After this many, you get pretty good. I'd like the ceiling of difficulty to be higher if possible so people don't abandon the game after they master the game with what is currently implemented.

Ok, I'll open the suggestion back up for votes.

While it seems simple, changing a fundamental component of the internal data structure will break all games in progress because the way the data is stored/accessed will have changed. If we decide to move forward on it, all players will need to abandon games that are running when we deploy.

FWIW, my experience has also been that solo is on the easier side. We have setup options for 2 and 3 players to alter the difficulty, but oddly no such options for 1 or 4.

We've worked out a way that should hopefully allow ongoing games to continue without experiencing issues. It'll require some coordination to make it work, but it's possible.

Because it's an addition to the rules beyond what we scoped out originally, my preference is to leave this suggestion open to collect votes. If it's a popular suggestion that people want, we can modify the adaptation accordingly. I'll reword the ticket's title to add clarity and help attract votes.

I like this suggestion, for different reasons. 4-player games seem more challenging than solo or 2-player games, perhaps because China and the rest of the world roles cannot be excluded. Beginners at 4-players might want the option of a second group "Decrease Difficulty" challenge card, for instance.

In a game review video they recommended having multiple challenge cards. Suggesting your starting game to have just 1.

Played this game so much on BGA I love it! (120+ times)

But stopped playing because its too darn easy.

Would love the option to add more challenge cards or play as 2+ players.

Hotseat mode will allow you to play as multiple players. It is a bit clunky, though.
